Tourmaline






Tourmaline is a kaleidoscopic gemstone, found in the widest range of colours, from black to white and everything in between. Some tourmaline crystals contain luminescent bands of several colours - from red to green to blue - just like a cystallised rainbow. Indeed the name tourmaline is derived from the Sinhala word for “mixed.” It is no wonder that tourmaline is called the “muse’s stone,” and is said to stimulate the imagination. Tourmaline is not only beautiful - it also has practical qualities since it becomes electrically polarized when heated.
